The Backup
Story: A client had 5 workstations and a server they purchased from
another company, not mine. It turns out that the hard drives were defective
and had been the subject of a class action suit that had been settled
in 2004. Three of the six hard drives failed. I therefore replaced the
remaining 3 hard drives before they also failed.
I used PC BackUp to make a computer backup of Windows, every program and setting
and all client data to an USB External Hard Drive. I replaced the defective
drives with new ones from another manufacturer. I then used PC BackUp
to restore everything to the new hard drives. It was like magic. It
was as though nothing had changed. The three systems functioned without
