DELETE FILE|FILES WINDOWS ONLY

Delete file|files. Before you delete anything, do you have a backup of everything on your hard drive or least your key files? If you are not sure or you don't know then read my article why Computer Backup is a necessity.

If you are sure that it is OK to delete a file or files, then read on.

By now, many of you know that you can delete a file, document, folder or image (an OBJECT in techno geek) by simply selecting (highlighting) it and then pressing the Keyboard's DELETE key (one method). However, you do not really delete the object. 

The deleted file is thrown into the RECYCLE BIN (trash can) and it remains there until you empty it.

As long as you are absolutely, positively sure that you want to get rid of an object, you can delete the file it from your computer in a single step and avoid the Recycle Bin.

Just select the object and press SHIFT-DELETE.

True, you'll still have to confirm this step by pressing Enter in the resulting dialog box, but at least you can avoid having to open the Recycle Bin to delete the file later.

Now for the truly computer savvy, you know that there is a way to recover even SHIFT-DELETE deletions. However, for everyday work this method works fine.
